Position Outline

Due to the pandemic and the shut downs we have lost the vast majority of our Match Officials (Referees) in the club. We need dedicated, passionate qualified officials in order to offer our programs and games.  For new Referees,  you would be assigned appropriate level games to allow you to learn and develop your skills as a Match Official.  Typically, you would referee 1 or 2 games per week.

In order to be a Match Official you must first become certified.  The club will reimburse you for your certification course.  Below is a graphic from Ontario soccer to help answer some questions about what is required to complete your certification.

If you are turning 12 by March 31st, 2023 then you can take the small sided course. If you are 14 by March 31st, 2023 then you can take the Entry level course. Click here to get more information or to register for your course.

Thank you for your time! I hope that you consider becoming a Match Official. If you have any questions feel free to reach out and I will help get you started.

I hope to see you out on the pitch soon.

Vice-President, Head Match Official, South Simcoe United FC
