Outdoor 2021 Recreational Soccer Update

Update

We hope you are all staying safe and healthy and enjoying this amazing weather and we thank you for your patience with updates on season start dates and information.  Please read the below email through to the end.

We wanted to send you all an update on our OUTDOOR 2021 RECREATIONAL season, as I’m sure many of you have lots of questions. We are busy trying to plan this different looking season for Outdoor 2021 soccer and looking at all different scenarios.

We were excited to hear that the Government is moving to Stage 1 this coming Friday June 11th.  Unfortunately from the little info we’ve been given from the Government reopening plan and Ontario Soccer, it looks like we will NOT be able to START our RECREATIONAL programs in Stage 1.

We are hopeful we can start our Recreational programs in Stage 2 once we reach it, but we have not gotten confirmation from the Government or Ontario Soccer.  We are awaiting updates from above to know more details on what things will look like and timing of things.  But we are very hopeful we can run a somewhat normal season in Stage 2.  As soon as we get those updates we will update all of you as well.

As of right now we have tentative plans of what things may look like for the different age groups below. We unfortunately will not be able to have a photo day this year and include photos into the program packages, we also will not be able to host any year end events like previous years unfortunately.

We hope this helps a bit clearing up some questions you may have. We are also working on the cost for the season running with the above changes, and will update you on the cost once things are firmed up.

We encourage players to register (but not pay) for Outdoor. (Click Offline/Office payment at check out to process the registration and not be charged.) This will help us know who is interested in participating this summer and plan accordingly. Once we know for sure when we can start, what the season will exactly look like, etc, we will update the price accordingly and ask for payment at that time.

***If you do not feel comfortable once the confirmed season details are released to have your child participated, full refunds will be granted and you will not be penalized for pulling out.

***If you have already made payment for your registration, once the season is confirmed, we will contact you to ask if you’d like a credit or a refund for the excess fees paid.

***If you know at this time you do not wish to participate, but have registered, please email [email protected] to let us know as soon as possible.

*** We are also starting our Volunteer Coach recruitment process for the season. If you are interested in coaching please do reach out to [email protected]. This is a very rewarding experience, I’m sure more then ever this year and we can use more help then ever this year on the fields with the added protocols needed to keep our players safe. New for the 2021 season, if you complete the full season coaching with us, we will credit you 50% of ONE child’s registration fee.  Please note only coaches and players will be allowed to enter the field area (except for the Parent/Tot and U5 age groups where one person only will be allowed to accompany each player into the field area)

*** Uniforms are supplied by SSU and will be handed out the very first night on the field.  All players will also receive a ball the first night (except our U13-18 age group).  Players are required to wear shin pads, are mandatory, and to be supplied by the player.  Outdoor soccer shoes are NOT mandatory to wear, running shoes or outdoor soccer shoes can be worn.

As a not-for profit club, these tough times have hit us hard over the last little while. Our full time administrator has and will continue to mainly work from home, but on very limited hours per week due to these tough times. We have placed our phone services on hold for now as we are needing to cut down on expenses wherever possible. Please use [email protected] to communicate with us during this difficult time. Please be patient as she goes through all the many inquiries and requests.

Thank you for your support and understanding during this unprecedented time. We look forward to seeing everyone on the pitch hopefully soon.
